💡 What:
Improved the accessibility and keyboard navigation of the ImageUploader component. Added necessary ARIA attributes to visually hidden inputs and icon-only buttons, and implemented clear focus rings for keyboard navigation.

🎯 Why:
Visually hidden inputs using className="hidden" can sometimes still be focusable or announced by screen readers depending on the browser, causing confusion. The "Clear" button was an icon-only button lacking an accessible name. Additionally, absolute positioned buttons inside overflow-hidden containers often have their default focus rings clipped, making keyboard navigation difficult to track.

♿ Accessibility:

  • Prevented the hidden file <input> from receiving keyboard focus or being read by screen readers.
  • Added translated aria-label to the "Remove Image" button.
  • Hidden decorative X icon from screen readers (aria-hidden="true").
  • Added high-visibility focus states (focus-visible:ring-2) to all interactive elements, matching the semantic color of the action (blue for select, red for delete).

PR created automatically by Jules for task 6385258352105987745 started by @MacTechIN

- Added `tabIndex={-1}` and `aria-hidden="true"` to the visually hidden file input to prevent screen reader announcements and phantom focus.
- Added `aria-label` to the image removal button.
- Added `aria-hidden="true"` to the removal button's internal `X` icon.
- Added explicit `focus-visible` Tailwind classes to both "Select File" and "Remove Image" buttons.
- Styled the overlay removal button with `ring-offset-2` and `ring-red-500` to prevent ring clipping and match the destructive action intent.
- Updated `.Jules/palette.md` with relevant UI/a11y learnings.

Code Review

This pull request improves accessibility and focus indicators in the ImageUploader component. Specifically, it adds tabIndex={-1} and aria-hidden="true" to the visually hidden file input, applies appropriate focus-visible ring styles to the action buttons, and adds an aria-label to the remove button while hiding its inner icon from screen readers. These changes and best practices are also documented in .Jules/palette.md. There are no review comments, so I have no feedback to provide.

Important

The consumer version of Gemini Code Assist on GitHub is being sunset. Starting June 18, 2026, new organization installations will be blocked, and all code review activity will officially cease on July 17, 2026.
