After having received this report from others since a few months now, I finally seen this myself in person.
It seems to exist a specific timing that when sync is running and the form is open, it causes the form to close and the feature to be deleted.
I had auto-sync off, but started sync manually (a "long" one as it was transferring many photos), then digitized a feature and while the form was open I could see for an instant a message that the feature was deleted, and of course the form closed and the entered data was lost.
The reports I received previosuly about this were from people with auto-sync on, and I guess that the fact that it now runs every minute it causes this problem to be more frequent, see also #4178 (so there seems also the be the issue that auto-sync should not run when digitizing/editing a feature, but it does not seems to be the case).
