CPU utilizaton maxed out when running Simagic GT Neo

I use a Simagic GT Neo with the RS QR adapter on my G Pro DD connected via MagLink and control lighting and effects via Simhub vs SimPro Manager. With the TrueForce for all plugin and my GT Neo enabled in SimHub CPU utilization immediately climbs to 100% and stays there. This also causes USBPcap to repeatedly ask for admin permissions in a loop. I confirmed this was the issue by unplugging the GT Neo but with the base still powered on and connected and utilization immediately returned to normal and the USBPcap admin permissions prompt no longer looping on repeat

I think you could stop the admin pop ups by going into Simhub settings and toggling on run as admin. (Not 100% sure but worth trying)

I'll have to investigate the CPU utilization in a couple hours.

I suspect something about using a third party wheel is messing with the detection; causing it to start scanning/trying to connect non stop.

Would you be willing to re-produce the issue and send me the logs?

1. GT Neo plugged in
2. plugin enabled
3. let the CPU/UAC loop run for ~30 seconds so the log captures the loop in action.
4. Then click Export logs on the bottom of the plugin
5. Send the Trueforce-logs-*.zip from the Desktop.

I'll clarify that disabling the GT Neo in SimHub and using SimPro Manager instead also resolves the issue. It's seems like the issue occurs specifically for wheels being controlled by SimHub. Other than that I have really been enjoying using this plugin with Assetto Corsa and it has breathed a new life into that sim for me. Force feedback has gone from a 5/10 to about a 9/10 in terms of how connected each car feels. If you have a Discord I'd love to join and provide more feedback and testing input for upcoming builds. I no longer seem to be getting the admin permissions dialog on repeat for USBPcap (seems like SimHub not being launched with admin privileges and the auto USB capture needing a couple of seconds to detect the wheel was what may have been causing the loop) but CPU usage still remains extremely high when I enable the GT Neo within Simhub. I only get the USBPcap admin permissions dialog once upon launching SimHub at the moment. I have attached the logs as requested.

Thanks again, this has been really valuable testing, and I'm genuinely glad the plugin's improved your wheel that much! That kind of feedback makes the work worth it.

I have identified a few CPU optimizations for the next build but they don't fully explain the high usage you're reporting.

First, a quick one that'll shave some load right away: in the plugin's settings, open Advanced Settings → Diagnostics and uncheck "Log raw USB FFB packets to usb-trace.pcap (for support)." You'd turned that on to capture the trace for me (thank you!) it's no longer needed and it adds CPU of its own. Turning it off also gives a cleaner reading for the tests below.

Then, whenever you have a moment (no rush on any of this), three quick experiments would help me pin down where the CPU load is actually coming from:

1. Are both the force feedback and the Trueforce effects working when the GT Neo is enabled in SimHub, or only when you switch the GT Neo over to SimPro Manager?

2. With the GT Neo enabled in SimHub and CPU running high, try disabling just the Trueforce plugin in SimHub (leave the GT Neo and everything else as-is). Does the CPU drop back to normal, or stay high? This tells me whether the load is coming from my plugin or from SimHub itself.

3. During the high CPU, open Task Manager → Details tab, sort by CPU, and let me know which process is at the top (for example USBPcapCMD.exe or SimHubWPF.exe). A screenshot is perfect if that's easier.

That'll tell me definitively whether this is something on my end to fix or something in how SimHub is driving the wheel. I really appreciate you digging in on this with me.

I also ran into the same issue. I'm using a QR adapter to connect the GT NEO to the RS50. With this plugin, the telemetry spikes CPU usage to nearly 100% right from the start. My CPU is the 9800X3D. Other than that, everything feels great—this plugin really brought AC back to life.
