PeakLoadManagementOptimizedController is currently limited to BESS applications. As part of future development, I want to generalize this to support any storage type capable of responding to a supervisory signal. This will involve several areas of work:
i) updating the documentation and docstrings to reflect the broader scope,
ii) writing additional tests to validate the new functionality
iii) investigating how this controller could be applied to non-BESS use cases beyond its original design intent.
