nvim-lua/plenary.nvim discontinued?

Hi everyone
It seems like nvim-lua/plenary.nvim will be discontinued. Their README.md states:

Critical bugs may still be addressed until 2026-06-30
No new features will be added
Ongoing support should not be expected

Since this is not a bug right now I choose to start this discussion to create awareness about plenary.nvim and their project plans.
