What’s included in this release? The last stable release was 5.1.38.
Why the sudden jump to 5.4.0?

Are the changes from 5.2 and 5.3 also included in 5.4.0?
It’s not clear from the 5.4.0 changelog.

Why the sudden jump to 5.4.0?

We have 5.2 and 5.3 that are reserved for features, they are currently in the alpha channel. Once we reach to a point that we find it stable, we will merge 5.2 and 5.3 into the current version when its the appropriate time.

Are the changes from 5.2 and 5.3 also included in 5.4.0? - No, not right now

It’s not clear from the 5.4.0 changelog.

Then there should be a note in the latest release not that the changes from 5.2 and 5.3 are not inside 5.4

I still can not understand the wrong versions jump.

Latest stabil was 5.1.38 and now its 5.4.0. Does not make sense to me.

@michael-winkler thanks for the feedback, 5.2.x and 5.3.x versions are feature versions that are still in beta. They didn't make the cut into 5.4.0, so there will be follow up minor version bumps later once they are out of beta.

• We updated the 5.4.0 release notes to make this more clear.

Also creating some better documentation around release Channels we are using that should make this much more clear too.
