CODE_OF_CONDUCT

Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in this project and our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex, gender identity and expression, experience level, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

We pledge to act and interact in a way that contributes to an inclusive, welcoming, and healthy environment.


Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment:

  • Use welcoming and inclusive language.
  • Be respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences.
  • Gracefully accept constructive criticism.
  • Focus on what is best for the community.
  • Show empathy toward other community members.

Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:

  • Harassing, intimidating, or demeaning comments or conduct.
  • Sexual language or imagery in any context.
  • Personal attacks on contributors or volunteers.
  • Publishing private or personally identifying information without consent.
  • Disruption of constructive communication or discussion.
  • Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behaviors.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported by contacting the maintainers at conduct@open-source-you.org. All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.

Consequences for unacceptable behavior may include:

  • Warning from community maintainers.
  • Temporary or permanent suspension of contribution rights.
  • Banning from project spaces (issues, pull requests, chat).
  • Other actions at the discretion of the maintainers.

Reporting Guidelines

When reporting, please include:

  • The type of behavior (code, PR comment, issue, chat).
  • Where and when it happened (date, time, link if applicable).
  • What was said or done (with as much context as possible).
  • What you would like the maintainers to do (optional).
  • Your contact preference (you may report anonymously).

Enforcement Process & Appeals

  • Reports are reviewed by maintainers (ideally someone not involved in the incident).
  • Decisions will be based on fairness, context, and precedent.
  • If you feel a decision is unfair, you may request an appeal (via the conduct contact).
  • Appeals are reviewed by a different maintainer or an appointed committee.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • All project spaces: Issues, PRs, discussions, wikis, chat rooms, community forums.
  • All events and interactions associated with this project (online or offline).
  • Any person representing the project or acting as its agent.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant v2.1.
