Voice Design: Accents

I've been trying to use the Voice Design feature to get VoxCPM to speak in English with an accent from other languages, preferably as many as possible. So far, the only option that seem to work reliably and upon request is a British accent, though it usually uses an American accent, by default.

Are there any other accents that can be produced reliably?

I figured it out. Specifying a 'very thick' accent seems to help a lot to make the accent used more apparent. I'm surprised how strong the accent is can be selected.

However, that only seems to work for certain categories of accents, mostly European in origin.

Still, is there a list of accents VoxCPM was trained on that I could look at?

At the moment, VoxCPM was not specifically trained or evaluated with a dedicated set of English accents in mind. The accent control you observe in Voice Design is mostly an emergent/generalization capability of the model, so its reliability can vary across accents and generations.

Because of that, we do not currently have an official list of supported or trained English accents. More explicit prompts such as "very thick British accent" may help in some cases, but we cannot guarantee stable results for every accent.

For more consistent accent or speaking-style control, we recommend using reference audio with voice cloning, or fine-tuning/LoRA on samples of the target accent.
