This page still a work in progress and at this point in time just a list of general guidelines that should be followed when creating replacement graphics for OpenRCT2.
Guidelines
General
The provided peep model should be used to keep all the sprites consistent with each other (At this point in time not yet available).
The lighting rig should never be changed unless there's a proper artistic reason behind doing so as long as the result still matches with the result of the default provided lighting rig.
1 tile in OpenRCT2 is 4 by 4 Blender units in size. 1 OpenRCT2 height unit is ~1.6328 in Blender Units.
Materials
For any material, a balance should be found between making the textures visible in the render and preventing too much noise from being visible.
Any texture should have Interpolation enabled with either the FELINE or Area filter.
The Area filter for Interpolation works best with a value of around 0.30.
Vehicles
Shadows need to be disabled when rendering vehicles.
Anti-aliasing should be disabled for any ride vehicle.
Objects/Shops
Objects can be rendered with either shadow on or off depending on what works best.
