Inconsistency in Wifi recommendations

Running version 1.22.0

In the Wifi recommendations "Overview" and "Channels" it's suggested to change channels.

In the Channel Recommendations, the analysis actually says no change.

The channel recommendation feature has a whole engine that's even further enhanced if you have the APs placed on the signal map. The other is a cursory recommendation which is why it says try this or this. It's way too abusive of the UniFi Console to pull the historic data and also to do the computational analysis on the server side to run the channel analysis every time. It could be cached but you can also vary the results interactively by specifying if you want to run DFS channels or not.

I'm leaning toward not making a fix here but I'll consider revising the verbiage a little.

Thanks for explaining some of the details.
I am perfectly fine for this, but I wanted to share my experience.

It's a great product for sure and I learned already a lot about my environment

Trust me it gets the gears in my head turning every time somebody reports an issue, whether it's that exact thing that gets fixed or not. As such, I appreciate whatever people float to me.

In this case I have some things in mind to improve the overall experience. But I have similar "things in mind" to go back and do on 4 or 5 other issues so I'll try to work the backlog in FIFO.

You should use this thread to report anything you're thinking about the Wi-Fi features as those are near and dear to me but I don't receive a lot of feedback there honestly.

One more thing.
I was starting to use the Signal Map, but the map is somewhere in the US.
There is no "localize me" button or something like this.
I am wondering how to use it...

Same is with Speed Map.

The cards are showing, but I don't see the purpose of the location and I cannot enter my address

Unfortunately for the very first point you have to zoom out and navigate the globe, place the one anchor building or AP and then you're good.

Or if you're doing signal or speed walk testing with GPS results that'll anchor you as well with the first result that comes in.

I'll see if the mapping stuff I use has decent address support but I hate to have really bad address support vs none at all.

Address search added to both Wi-Fi Optimizer maps, was able to do a pretty good one.

The other bit I'm going to leave this Issue open in order to improve soon.

Channel recommendation engine just got a minor overhaul in 1.23.0 let me know how it works for you.

How many APs are you running there?

I'll tie the results of the channel recommendation into the Wi-Fi issues next.

It's a significant progress.

I am now running the latest version of ON (1.23.1) and I placed my APs in the card.
I have 5 APs (one is deactivated)

Observations:

• when I click on "Speed Map", the card shows my home, as expected.
• when I click on "Signal Map", the card shows the world map, but not my home (but I can zoom in)
• This wrong zooming also appears in "Wi-Fi Optimizer / Client Performance":

• Channel Recommendation is now more useful and reflecting my setup:

-However, one reported Health Issue does not end up in the Channel Recommendations:

On signal map let me see why that might be. It may be an issue when there are 0 signal data points. But it may be something peculiar about the access point that is in UniFi Network but disabled.

And you see in that recommendation that is worked in because channel util is based upon co channel interference / CCA and by moving that one AP that util will drop quite a bit. It's definitely being factored in.

I do however think I see an issue with the "after" score for the AP that has the channel move suggestion.

Did you have a chance to try the suggested move and see how it does?
