I’m looking forward to starting on my work to add new exciting features to VirtualShip including biogeochemical sampling techniques!

I am thrilled to rejoin the VirtualShip team as a Research Officer, having previously been its Student-Assistant in 2024-2025.

I will be mostly working on planning and producing the VR application of VirtualShip (360º material), as well as with the strategic communication of the project. For this, I will be joining several sea-going expeditions.

I did my PhD at the University of Exeter in the UK where I worked on seasonal forecasting of the European North-West shelf seas. Prior to this I worked on mesoscale oceanography (eddies) physical-biogeochemical extreme events.

After studying at the universities of Cambridge, Lisbon, and ANU in Australia, I studied for a master’s in History and Philosophy of Science at Utrecht University. My thesis focused on the imaging methods of geosciences, specifically the moving image as a technoepistemic instrument and the questions of methodology, scale, and time.
