[Bug]: Looking Glass sticky search query URLs #51

Description

@ParleSec

Description

When a query url flow from the looking glass, the query parameters are set until explicitly removed from the url altered in the looking glass UI.

This persistence remains when changing protocols, and remains for the whole browser tab session.

Ideally, there should be enhancements to enable greater visibility of looking glass querying, clean url mechanisms and more adaptive persistence

Steps to reproduce

  1. Use the search to find a runnable protocol
  2. Select protocol from the search to navigate the the queried looking glass
  3. navigate to a different page
  4. Navigate back to the looking glass
  5. the query url is persisted
  6. Change the protocol selection from the ui
  7. Run the protocol
  8. The query url is still persisted

This appears to be an inconsistent sticky query issue. There is not a 1-1 reproduction consistency, but it does occur somewhat frequently in new instances

Expected behavior

It is expected that the search functionality does return a queried URL, but that persistence function is too aggressive without any method of clearing.

The queries URL should remain only for when the user is directly active in that looking glass instance. Navigation outside of this should clear the query.

Users should have clear/reset and share options to enable clean and queried url sharing.

Actual behavior

Behaviour is sticky query urls persisting across site navigation

Affected area

Looking Glass (flow execution/visualization)
