I often lend materials to students. That's why I use new locations for this purpose.
However, it is very tedious to move components from one location to another within the tool, as you have to use the following workflow:
1.) Edit the part
2.) Go to “Stocks”
3.) Add stock
4.) Storage location (choose or create a new one) with Amount 0, Last stocktake update to today (valid date & time)
5.) Save Changes
6.) Nice to have an Expiration Date per stock :-)
7.) Go back to the detail info view of a part .. Go to Stocks as shown here
It would be much more efficient if, when clicking on the “Move parts from lot to another lot” button, you could select the storage location and enter the quantity to be transferred (the same as before) in the same way as in point 4 above (possibly also with an expiry date).
The workflow would be much easier to follow.
It would also be great if Purchasing could pick components directly from the “Purchasing” warehouse, then the components would come to my desk and I could “move” them to the respective warehouse. Then you could also see the transfer correctly. What do you think about implementing this? Can I also help to add this functionality?
Thanks for your great work, de Thomas
