The current placeholder syntax mixes semantics: {part} is capitalized while {{part}} is plural capitalized, and [part] is lowercase. This is counterintuitive for developers.

Changes

New placeholder mapping:

  • Curly braces → lowercase: {part} = "part", {{part}} = "parts"
  • Square brackets → capitalized: [Part] = "Part", [[Part]] = "Parts"
  • Single/double consistently means singular/plural across both styles

Modified files:

  • RegisterSynonymsAsTranslationParametersListener.php - Updated placeholder generation logic with mb_* functions for Unicode safety
  • config/permissions.yaml - Migrated 11 type labels from {{type}} to [[Type]] format
  • Translation files (en, de) - Updated placeholder references
  • Test assertions updated to verify new mapping

Example usage:

# Before
label: "{{part}}"           # Capitalized plural

# After  
label: "[[Part]]"           # Capitalized plural (more intuitive)

Applies to all element types: part, category, footprint, manufacturer, supplier, storage_location, attachment_type, currency, measurement_unit, project, part_custom_state.
