Crashes When Hitting Play (Wolf Among Us)

After applying the patch for a 3440x1440 resolution, the game main menu loads but when loading a save or starting a new game, it crashes to desktop.

I am playing The Wolf Among Us via Steam.

I'm actually seeing this same behavior on my machine with the GOG version. Seems like there was an update to the game at some point as the exe name is now "Fables.exe" and not "TheWolfAmongUs.exe" so the flawless widescreen plugin doesn't work anymore either hm

Apparently on Steam the exe name hasn't changed so you can use the Flawless widescreen plugin there still. Maybe if you edit the script to point it to the new exe name for the GOG version it'll work there too but I wasn't able to get that to work for some reason.

Until I can maybe incorporate a fix into this patcher (it's a bit annoying because I have to make sure it doesn't break on the other games in the process :/) I have made a SUWSF fix for the game. Just download the zip file below and extract the files to your game folder and it should work.

EDIT: @RoseTheFlower confirmed that the initial version I posted didn't work for the Steam version and discovered that changing the first match of the alternate pattern in the patcher via SUWSF does work, and I confirmed that this works on the GOG version as well, so the zip below has been updated.
