What changed

Complete harmonization of PHI 101 — A Philosophical History of Freedom by Damien Theillier.

The English content has been fully reviewed and cleaned up: fixed formatting issues (dashes, spacing, blockquotes), added bold highlights for key concepts, and restructured each chapter with proper subtitles after the video embed.

All 102 course images were re-extracted from the original PPTX slides at proper resolution and resized for web (avg 24 KB each). Captions were pulled from the slide text.

Quiz YAML files were reformatted for consistency across all 24 chapters.

10 new book entries were created in BEC for works referenced throughout the course (Bastiat, Rothbard, Hayek, Mises, JS Mill, Rousseau, Paine, Keynes, Rueff, etc.), each with a cover thumbnail.

Follow-up needed

• Translations: all translation files (es, fr, ja, etc.) are currently untouched. A full translation pass is needed once this merges — Asi0 should restart the Azure pipeline on the updated English source.
• Video links: 25 FR YouTube + multilingual PeerTube links are already in place, no action needed.
• Book pages: the 10 new book entries will appear on the platform after sync — worth a quick visual check that covers display correctly.

Reviewed this branch and pushed fixes. Summary below.

Verified solid

• All 29 chapter IDs preserved across the restructure (load-bearing platform keys).
• 102 course images are valid WebP (avg ~25 KB); en.md cleanup is non-lossy — every image reference resolves.
• 10 new book entries: valid, unique UUIDv4, no collisions with existing books.
• FR quizzes are faithful translations of the EN ones (no answer drift).

Fixed on this branch

Quizzes (content corrections, EN + FR):

• quizz/005 — the dominant view of power answer was inverted (it stated Bastiat's counter-view). Per the course ("the cultural prejudice dominating Western philosophy… is that we owe everything to power"), the correct answer is "Power is necessary for the progress and prosperity of humanity". Also dropped the weak "All of the above" distractor.
• quizz/018 — the industrialization answer was an unsupported hedge. Per Mises/Hayek in the course, corrected to "It created new opportunities and improved their standard of living".
• quizz/014 — two distractors ("fostered individual freedom", "stimulated innovation") are things the course explicitly attributes to legal pluralism, making them arguably correct; replaced with clearly-wrong options so "fragmentation of power" is unambiguously best.

Books: level: advanced is invalid for books (schema enum is beginner | intermediate | expert | wizard). Set to expert on socialism-mises, the-constitution-of-liberty, the-denationalization-of-money, the-ethics-of-liberty, the-general-theory, the-monetary-sin-of-the-west. The validator now passes on all 10 books.

en.md: restored 3 glossary hyperlinks (austrian-school, cryptocurrency, inflation) that were dropped to plain text during the cleanup.

Image metadata: added full Dublin Core XMP to all 102 en/ images — dc:title (slide caption), dc:description (situated in its section), dc:creator = Damien Theillier, dc:rights = CC BY-SA 4.0. The images previously carried only title + description (no creator/rights) or none. Image bitstreams are byte-identical — metadata-only, no re-encode.

Notes

• Validator: courses/phi101 passes (remaining warnings are pre-existing empty proofreading fields, untouched here); all 10 books pass.
• Translations (prose es/fr/… .md) are intentionally untouched — restart the translation pipeline on the updated English source after merge, as noted in the PR description.
• XMP + no-txt/ dedup for the other-language image folders are out of scope for this PR and tracked separately.
