What's the status of compatibility with NVAPI? And how can we centralize discussion about a recurring issue?

Hello,

I've had ongoing issues with NVAPI (seemingly) causing FanControl crashes. I've browsed the GitHub Issues here and see a lot of problems with NVAPI--some resolved, some not, and I'm having trouble understanding the current compatibility of my Nvidia hardware with FanControl.

Could we have perhaps a pinned Issue about NVAPI compatibility so the discussion can be centralized and is easier to follow? Or perhaps someone else will have a better idea?

And also, what is the current state of NVAPI compatibility? Is it known to be broken?

It is not known to be broken, as long as we are talking about a desktop GPU.
