Compress Legend Items for Layers

I have noticed this on a few layers but some layers have duplicate legend items correlated to different raster or vector values. Is there a way to merge those values into one legend item in the contents panel?

@ChloeSeeborg do you have any idea what is causing this? I'm not sure that this is something that I can control from the code.
