Issue description

In the section
When using direct logon, the Application Server specifies one application server of the ABAP system. The instance number is a two-digit number that is also found in the SAP Logon configuration. Alternatively, it's possible to directly specify the gateway port in the Instance Number field., there is no information whether the port specified in the profile parameter gw/cloud_connector_port needs to be specified in the instance number field if the SCC should explicitly connect to it (and if it can handle RFC via SNC as well).
When the ABAP system is connected with load balancing via Message Server, I assume the port specified in the profile parameter gw/cloud_connector_port is propagated by the MS to the SCC.

Basically, your assumptions are all correct.

• gw/cloud_connector_port must be specified in the instance number field if the SCC should explicitly connect to it.
• SNC always uses a different port.
• Yes, if a message server is used, it handles the port assignment directly.

We added the following note to the documentation:

"The default gateway port for RFC communication is 33<instance number> (for example, 3302). If specified manually, it is the value of the profile parameters gw/port or gw/cloud_connector_port in the corresponding ABAP server (transactions RZ10 and RZ11).

For RFC SNC, the gateway port is 48<instance number>. In this case, the gateway port cannot be specified manually.

In both cases (RFC and RFC SNC), the internal network must allow access to the required ports."

is the separate SCC port gw/cloud_connector_port not capable to handle SNC communication?
So the RFC SNC traffic for this cannot be separated from other traffic?

my apologies for the delayed answer.

Regarding your last question, we had longer discussions with colleagues from different departments/components involved in this configuration process.
It turned out that in this place, the gateway profile parameters are not meant to be used at all.

We have adapted the documentation accordingly.

If you need more detail information for your configuration needs, please create a support ticket with component BC-CST-GW (for gateway profile parameters) or BC-MID-SCC (Cloud Connector configuration).
