Recently, when using SPECFEM2D for simulations, I discovered an interesting issue. I set my source as a cosine form of a Gaussian pulse and placed a receiver at a position 2m away from the source point. I found that the frequency of the signal received by the receiver is about 20% higher than the dominant frequency of the source wavelet. What could be the reason for this?
