Code Of Conduct

OpenController should be a useful, respectful place to build local-first controller tooling for agents, accessibility, testing, overlays, and research.

Expected Behavior

  • Be respectful and assume good intent.
  • Keep feedback specific, technical, and actionable.
  • Welcome newcomers who are learning the codebase or controller-emulation space.
  • Respect privacy and avoid sharing secrets, private logs, or personal data.
  • Keep safety in scope when discussing native input, drivers, automation, and agent behavior.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, threats, slurs, or personal attacks.
  • Sexualized, violent, or degrading comments directed at contributors.
  • Publishing private information or credentials without consent.
  • Encouraging anti-cheat bypasses, stealth automation, credential theft, or online competitive game abuse.
  • Repeated disruptive behavior after maintainers ask for it to stop.

Reporting

If a conduct issue involves security-sensitive details, follow SECURITY.md and avoid public exploit details.

For other conduct issues, open a GitHub issue asking for maintainer contact without posting private details, or use any private maintainer channel that is available for the project.

Enforcement

Maintainers may remove comments, close issues, request behavior changes, or limit participation when behavior harms contributors or the project. Enforcement should be proportionate, documented when practical, and focused on keeping the project safe and collaborative.
