Hi,
We support exam delivery using iPads (QTY 240) with Safe Exam Browser and would like guidance on the recommended way to test SEB before live exam sessions.
During a recent exam session, several students lost the ability to scroll through the exam page while using Safe Exam Browser on iPads. Replacement iPads were provided, but some of those devices later experienced the same issue.
The affected devices were running Safe Exam Browser 3.6.2. Some were running iPadOS 26.1 and some were running iPadOS 26.5. Other iPads on the same versions worked correctly, so there was no clear version pattern.
The following message was also seen on some older iPads:
“Running on New iOS Version Not Allowed. Currently it isn’t allowed to run SEB on the iOS version installed on this device.”
Please could you advise on the following:
- The recommended way to test Safe Exam Browser on iPads before live exams.
- Whether there is a dummy exam or test configuration that can be used to test scrolling, navigation and page behaviour.
- Whether iPadOS 26.1 or 26.5 with SEB 3.6.2 is currently a supported combination.
- Whether there are any known scrolling or WebKit related issues with SEB 3.6.2 on iPadOS 26.
- Whether there are any recommended configuration settings for iPad exams.
- What logs, device information or configuration details would be useful for investigation.
- Whether any SEB updates are expected during the main April, May and June exam period.
The aim is to build a reliable testing process so that any issues can be identified before live exams.
Many thanks,
