Using custom URL protocol scheme to launch SEB with IIS

I'm integrating SEB with a site that's hosted on IIS. I'd like to use the custom URL protocol scheme to launch SEB, but IIS doesn't support custom protocols (from what I've read). How can I do this?

To start SEB from your website, simply add a seb(s)://... link on a particular page from which you'd like to launch SEB, see also https://safeexambrowser.org/developer/overview.html.
