How do you redeploy after making changes?

How do you RE-deploy a web part after making changes. When I redeployed I could not install the app. I updated the version and was able to then install the app but then was not able to add it to a page. There should be guidance on how to re-deploy after changes have been made to the solution.

@BoydBrandon You just deploy a new .sppkg package. If you don't have any SharePoint assets in there (custom fields, lists, etc.) new JS will be loaded automatically. You don't need to reinstall the app on the sites.

It was unclear what to do with the installed APP. Because you have to copy the solution file, deploy it, install the app on the site, and then add the app to a page. I had issues after I removed the App. It would not let me add it back unless I changed the version. And once I changed the version I could add the app back but it was no longer available to be added to a page. I will try redeploying a web part with a different name today to see what happens. I am collection admin using a site collection app catalog. I do not have tenant level permissions.

@BoydBrandon - you don't need to remove the app before uploading a new version of .sppkg.
If you do that - double-check the app is not in the recycle bin.
Sometimes it might be "stale", and it that case you need to update the version.
But again - just no need to remove the app if you have a web part and not the assets.
