"The most recent NodeJs LTS version" text is obsolete

Install the most recent LTS version of Node.js v16.
This version is the currently recommended version of Node.js to use with the SharePoint Framework (unless otherwise specified below).

For clarity isn't in reference to the "latest" version of node. It is relation to the 'Long Term Support' of the specific version. There are multiple LTS versions of Node (for example, 12 LTS, 14 LTS, 16 LTS, 18 LTS).

The documentation is asking you to install the latest version of Node 16 LTS which would be 16.18.1

not exactly, I quote the currently available version of article as

Install the most recent LTS version of Node.js[the link symbol] v16

The text does not say, as you specified "the latest version of Node 16 LTS", but "the most recent LTS version of Node" and then "v16", that is confusing, like it says the most recent LTS is 16.
and, by the way,

@sdudnic the Microsoft documentation is pretty clear. You should install the most recent LTS version of Node.js 16 and that's exactly how Node.js describes their different products (with the number after 'Node.js'). At best, Microsoft could remove the 'v' from "Install the most recent LTS version of Node.js v16"

Why MSFT are using Node.js 16 is an entirely different question, though 16 is still active/being maintained.

And I read it like Microsoft inviting me to install the most recent version of LTS NodeJS, that is 16. Why that lecture would be false?

The "product name" usually does not include the version. You have ".NET" and version "7", you have Product name "Windows" and the version is "10", you have "NodeJS"....

Node.js 16 is one of these products and is what Microsoft is referring to. As I have already stated, you should install the most recent LTS of the product Node.js 16 (version 16.18.1).

I understand your explanation, I already installed and all works, but it seems you don't understand the mine. I maintain that the text as is can be confusing. For me, there is no such a product, "NodeJS 16", but "NodeJS", and the latest LTS version is 18.

@sdudnic LTE is not the same thing as LTS and using that theory "Windows 10" doesn't exist because Windows 11 is latest in the Windows series. Node.js 16 has a maintenance LTS version, as stated by Node.js's own blog

it was a typo LTE, I meant LTS. I don't have something to add to the already said. The text is confusing.
