Fork material and update if required

We need to know whether there are any changes we need to make to this. Anything we'd change? Any open issues/pending PRs we think would be good?

OK, there are a few issues here:

• Much of the material is a bit abstract and wordy (e.g. software architecture section).
• Overcomplicated tooling. We should not be using pip & venv & pylint & poetry when we could use uv & ruff to get a better and more consistent output more easily.
• Outdated things. There is no reason to be discussing Python 2 indentation.
• Coding conventions section is awful. It's just a catalogue of Python style choices and there's not a lot on the philosophy of writing readable code beyond that. Though checking back on the Gutenberg stuff from Oxford, that's largely the same too.

OK, I'll go through this fully tomorrow and make notes on every lesson, and raise them as issues.

It looks like the Netherlands e-Science centre has made some significant changes and improvements, which include introducing UV and ruff: https://github.com/esciencecenter-digital-skills/python-intermediate-development

I've not given it a full look. But I think I could hold back on adding UV, and work on other bits.
