Effect Versioning System

Each ShaderLab effect carries an effectId (stable GUID) and effectVersion (integer). This enables safe upgrades when effects are updated with new parameters or shader changes.

  • effectId: Stable identifier that survives effect renames.
  • effectVersion: Monotonically increasing version per effect.
  • Per-node "Update Effect" button: Shown in Properties panel when a node's version is behind the registry.
  • "Update Effects (N)" batch button: Toolbar button to upgrade all outdated nodes at once.
  • Property preservation: On upgrade, existing user property values are preserved where parameter names match.
