Thank you for the explanation, Grampa. I am seeing the same behavior — the selected subtitle line moves down and then stays at the bottom while the subtitles continue scrolling. In my workflow, having the current line stay centered (as in Subtitle Edit 4) makes it much easier to focus on timing and text input. So I would definitely support having an option to keep the current line centered during playback. |

I have one suggestion based on actual usage.
In Subtitle Edit 4, the current subtitle line stayed centered during playback, and the cursor moved forward. This made it easier to focus on timing and text input.
In Subtitle Edit 5, the waveform moves instead, and the current line gradually moves out of view. This makes editing slightly less comfortable.
Regarding waveform behavior, would it be possible to provide an option to choose between:
This could improve usability depending on user preference.
