The LINCC Frameworks team have developed tools used for efficient queries for large databases of astronomical objects using spatial queries. Documentation for their HATS and LSDB software is here.
There are various use cases where TOM users would want to incorporate their own sizeable database in addition to the main TOM DB. E.g. a galaxy or star catalog used as a reference or as part of the target selection analysis.

It would be good to have a documented demonstration of how a use could implement such a database within their TOM system.
