Got my save back but now repentagon doesnt work

I got my save back after losing most of my progress after repentagon was installed and now it wont work. Vanilla launch mod lets me play the game but repentagon launch mode just shows "Fatal error: Attempt to load a save file with the wrong number of achievements! Terminating to prevent corruption!". then the game closes after pressing ok.

I have done things to try and fix it but I dont want to mess anything else up

If you are using a legitimate steam copy of the game, the only additional step that may be required to recover your repentance save data is a manual import from within repentogon itself (its mentioned on our installation guide / faq). You've probably ended up in a more annoying situation due to messing around with your save files manually (which is typically not required).

The above doesn't apply if you aren't using a legit steam copy since those are known to have more issues with saves. These cases are usually fixable, unless you are using certain cracks that make save stuff more difficult.

Anyway, if you launch the game with the launch mode set to "vanilla" which makes the game start without repentogon, is all your progress intact there?

Also, use the "Check Game Logs" button in the launcher to locate repentogon.log and upload the file here.
