Controller working weirdly

So in my normal isaac game my switch controller works without any problem. The left button is y, right is a and such. But i tried to play rgon and not only were those 2 buttons completely reversed, but the left stick just doesn't work for the menu for some reason (the cross still does) and the r button for some reason moves the character select scren as if i moved left?? (i even tried some community templates that didn't work either). Also i doubt my controller itself is the problem bc i played rgon i anothee computer before and the controller worked fine too, is there some config i need to do that i haven't been able to find or smth? Is this a normal issue?

Check the instalation guide and do the isaac steam shortcut thing, so rgon is launched through steam, this may be a steam input issue (or lack of steam input).

I tried now, but it didn't fix the problem sadly

Do you have a file at <Documents>/My Games/The Binding of Isaac Repentance+/inputconfigs.dat?

If you do, can you try renaming it, OR making a copy of it and then deleting the original? Just to see if it makes a difference

Its fine if you dont have that file - you may or may not. May also not be relevant but good to rule out

Try this. it's help me:
Enable Steam Input: Right-click The Binding of Isaac in your Steam Library, go to Properties > Controller. Set "Override for The Binding of Isaac" to Enable Steam Input.

Had the same issue after a fresh install on a new computer, culprit was indeed inputconfigs.dat

were you able to fix it? i'm having the exact same issue with my 8bitdo controller, i've tried to delete the inputconfigs.dat file, enable, default, and disable steam input but i was not able to properly map the controller
