Organization Level Variables and Secrets

Github Actions accommodate Variables and Secrets in your workflows. Variables and secrets can be set at the Organization, Repository, and Environment levels. When creating organizational level variables and secrets, the following conventions should be followed:

• Names are all upper case
• Underlines separate words
• The following format should be used:
  • <BU>_[<TEAM>]_<NAME>
    • Business Unit Abbreviation
    • Optional Team Name
    • The variable or secret name
  • The business unit VUENT can be used to indicate Vanderbilt University Enterprise.

Team Level Secrets

Team level secrets should be restricted to those repositories owned by the team.
