In single player you can use Shift+P to pause the game and scroll around. |

Many players want to have active pause (tactical pause). Please implement a pause feature that allows you to command units and inspect the map

OpenRA have this ability, Emperor: Battle for Dune have also.
Many popular RTS also have Age of Empires 2 (3, 0ad), Total Annihilation (SupCom, BAR, Zero-K), Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, Total War, They are Billions etc (full list on steam link)
There is a lot of critique posts about new RTS games that doesn't have this feature (AoE4). Players looking for workarounds, trying make pause mods where it possible. Tempest Rising (doesn't have pause on release) seems devs heard these posts and now has tactical pause from 9 September approx.
This feature doesn't make problems for players who doesn't use pause, but very important for who loves more slow game paces, more look, think longer, don't like hurry and fast APM etc
Also this feature compensates for the speed setting we had in Red Alert 1 and 2
