Bug Description

Certain mods cause severe in-game performance degradation, resulting in extremely low frame rates with no apparent cause.

I have confirmed this behavior with the following mods:

  • Contra 10.0.2 Beta 2 Patch 1
  • The End of Days 0.98.6 Patch 11

Reproduction Steps

  1. Start the game using the SH weekly-2026-06-12 build without disabling the shell map while running one of the mods mentioned above.
  2. Observe the frame rate. This issue can also be observed by loading a skirmish match.

Additional Context

This issue does not occur with the retail build of Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour version 1.04.

A similar issue also occurred with Generals Online after Update 060526, but it was resolved I believe in commit bdaef78. This leads me to believe the issue may have been introduced by changes to anti-aliasing (AA) and texture filtering.

When using Quickstart, the main menu does not exhibit any performance issues.
