Possible to run Install-Microsoft-Store.ps1 on Windows 10 ?

I have successfully used it on Windows 11.

but it chokes on Windows 10.

There isn't anything helpful in the event log. I've been fighting with Claude, which has been giving me plausible things to try. But nothing has panned out.

also, the -debugSaveFiles flag seems to be experiencing some heartburn at the moment, as well.

Hm i'd have to look into it. Perhaps it doesn't properly get the right windows store version. There are some hardcoded values it uses. Though admittedly this isn't going to be a big priority for me.

Are you by any chance running windows with a different language than English as the default?

No, I am running en-us version of Windows.

I did a bit of research on the issue and came up dry. I found some info that I should open the downloaded file, and extract the actual installer from inside of it, and run that. Which I did. But I still ran into errors, and the nature of the errors were that I was missing some sort of dependency. But the manifests that I found didn't have any clues, and the error messages weren't helpful.

That's about as far as I got.

The sandbox would be much more useful on Windows 10 if it were just a bit more "complete".

Windows 10 is going to be important to many of us for another couple of years, at least. (Until October 2028)

Try the latest version of the script I just updated.

I realized it was hard coded to use a certain build number, which I've updated to be more dynamic.

Also the 2nd error about debug logging was actually because I had a bad variable reference I never changed after an update.

what worked for me was doing the winget install, then running the cmd "winget install 9WZDNCRFJBMP" in terminal or powershell

Could you paste the full output of the script? And also all the files it had downloaded into the Downloads\MSStore Install folder.

For some reason it seems to say it can't find the last package but I can't tell if it actually downloaded it or not.

I also noticed that in the image of all the packages, it has the icon of the white paper and not the cardboard box. only the cardboard box shows up when i do install winget

Hm I wonder if it's the appx installer dependencies themselves.
Not sure why it wouldn't be installing it in this case. Will have to look into it
