BallotMaker Requirements: Version 1

The BallotMaker program, written in Python, will generate PDF ballots based on a NIST-compliant Election Data File. For details on the NIST Election Common Data Format (version 2), go to their GitHub repo: usnistgov/ElectionResultsReporting at version2

This version of BallotMaker will generate ballots that comply with the standard described in the EAC document, Effective Designs for the Administration of Federal Elections (PDF, 7MB). For a illustrated summary of ballot design best practices, read Designing usable ballots (PDF, 580K).
