GTFShift Bus lane prioritization tool is an interactive dashboard that provides a comprehensive bundle of indicators to support the identification and prioritization of road segments where bus lanes should be implemented for some case studies.
It covers several dimensions of this problem, namely bus frequency, infrastructure availability, traffic conditions, passenger demand and network continuity. Together, these can be used to identify road segments where bus lanes should be implemented, enabling for a transparent and data-driven decision-making process, suitable to different contexts and criteria.
The results are based on the application of the GTFShift R package, an open-source software tool that implements the methodology behind this dashboard, allowing for the replication and application of the methodology to other case studies.
For details on the methodology and code, refer to R package the official documentation and the code repository, at github.com/U-Shift/GTFShift.
GTFShift and GTFShift web are developed and maintained by U-Shift urban mobility research group, part of CERIS research unit, at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal.
