Why are you proposing this feature?

I have a couple use cases where I want to use a filter on List Cards. Right now, I have to use the Select filter even if its just between two options. The best case would to have a segmented button filter that the user could click between to toggle the filter.

How should a possible solution look like?

Best case: same exact config, but change filter "type" to "segmentedButton" and the card would display with a segmented button instead of a select with all the options from filter items.

Are there alternative approaches?

I would be happy with a tab component instead of select or segmented button.

May you please provide details (real case scenario, mock up) for what problem you want to solve?
Is it only the filter representation (while the Card shows same structure data in reaction to the filter value). What if there are 3+ filter values (as you mentioned "...tab component instead of")? Or you have other expectations (like switching views - as introducing tab component would hint semantically)?
