1. first execution: Index is still ingesting -> in_progress_ingestion() returns True -> first interrupt()fires at counter=0 -> graph suspends 2. resume #1: the trigger handler resolves the index. the function re-executes from the top. But now create_ephemeral_index_async() returns the same already-completed index 3. in_progress_ingestion() now returns False (status is "Successful") -> first interrupt is SKIPPED 4. interrupt(CreateDeepRag(...)) fires at counter=0 - not 1, because it's the first interrupt() call in this re-execution 5. LangGraph checks scratchpad.resume[0] -> finds the Index object (the resume value from the WaitEphemeralIndex trigger) -> returns it immediately instead of suspending 6. the tool returns the Index object as its result
