In the new version of FSDA

1. function setupPythonEnv.m has been improved and now should work with all operating systems and MATLAB on line (see the discussion in issue New FSDA function: setupPythonEnv #168 getFundamentals functions now works under MATLAB Online #173 )
2. following your suggestions function getYahoo has been rewritten to be able to host in options 'topPanelMode' and 'bottomPanelMode' a struct
   (see the discussion in issue Asking your advice #170 )

Testing Verfied Commands.pdf We have tested different function combinations of the getYahoo function in MATLAB Online (FSDA). Most of the combinations are working correctly. However, the 'msg' parameter is causing some issues, which are documented in the attached PDF. We have commented on these issues within the file for your reference.

We will continue further testing and keep you updated on our findings.

As concerns msg. This option in the help is declared as a boolean

therefore it is wrong to write 'off' which is character vector of length 3 or "off" which is a string scalar.

Therefore the call in the image below might still work but it is wrong

You can call msg using either 1 or 0
OR
true or false

To all. It would be great if you could also let us know if there are bugs in the documentation.

In particular we wish to know whether function getFundamentals which calls yfinance python module now also works in MATLAB on line.

Testing of getFundamentals.pdf we have tested getfundamentals with different parameter and check documentation it looks fine and we also check gettickers find some of the issues with parameters soon i will upload the file. @MarcoRianiUNIPR @Asadunipr @qaseem97 @akashlanke

getticker testing.pdf we have test getticker function also find that 'msg', 'RankByCap' ,'IncludeIndex' they all are run on wrong input i have attached the screenshot in file where they run on string, some other numerical values (3,4,5,6) but according documentation i should be true or false and few more issue i have attach in a file . @MarcoRianiUNIPR @Asadunipr @qaseem97 @akashlanke

In the new version of FSDA (version 8.7.10.20)

we have added inside getTickers the code below

Now we check that the input arguments 'RankByCap' 'IncludeIndex' and 'msg' are scalar logical or 0/1

Have you ever noticed for example the Azure pipeline button?

If you click on it you fo the Continuos Integration (CI) tests

where we also check the lines of routine which are covered by the tests

As I said, the real job of the teachers is to let the students who want to learn to know more and explore more!

Also, I appreciate the encouragement it’s fascinating to see the rigorous testing that goes into the FSDA repo and that will be helpful to understand more about CI/CD pipelines.
