This site documents instruments developed by Universal Scientific Technologies s.r.o. for atmospheric and electromagnetic research. The instruments cover the full chain from lightning detection and electric-field sensing to integrated mobile and airborne measurement platforms.
- Radio Storm Monitoring Stations (RSMS) — VLF and UHF SDR receivers for lightning observation, including a distributed VLF lightning mapping algorithm and the lightning trigger theory.
- Electric Field Sensors (THUNDERMILL) — angular-sensitive electric field mills for stationary, mobile and UAV use.
- Precipitation Disdrometer (DISDROMETER01) — piezoelectric, waveform-level disdrometer for hydrometeor-type classification on moving platforms.
- Storm-resistant Anemometer (WINDGAUGE03) — Venturi-based, hail-tolerant anemometer with absolute heading via magnetometer.
- Storm measurement vehicles — integrated mobile platform combining the above instruments plus an autogyro-launch capability for in-situ thunderstorm measurements.
- Solar Patrol telescope — semi-automated solar observation assembly at Ondřejov.
- UST ionizing radiation sensors — the GEODOS / AIRDOS / SPACEDOS / LABDOS family of radiation detectors (separate site).
