Google 2011 Webpage Clone

This project is a recreation of Google's homepage and sign-in experience as it appeared in 2011, based on screenshots from the Web Design Museum.

Features

  • Classic 2011 Google top bar with links to Search, Images, Maps, YouTube, News, etc.
  • Search box and buttons: "Google Search" and "I'm Feeling Lucky".
  • Footer with Advertising, Business, About links.
  • Sign-in modal:
    • Enter email
    • Enter password
    • Shows "You are signed in" message
    • Back button to go back to the homepage
  • Fully local: no real Google authentication; demo only.
  • Uses the Google 2011 logo: images/google-logo.png.
  • Favicon included: icon/favicon (9).ico.

Usage

  1. Open index.html in any modern web browser.
  2. Use the search box and buttons to simulate Google search.
  3. Click Sign in to test the sign-in modal.

Notes

  • This project is for educational and demonstration purposes only.
  • Enter any email and password to proceed through the demo sign-in flow.
  • The design is inspired by Google's 2011 website, not an official Google product.

Builds

Found some builds like Google 2011, or 2018 like:

  • Build 0992: Classic Google only with Times New Roman, boring.
  • Build 1002: Lighthouse score of 94 with a logo, but super BORING...
  • Build 1009: Builds up with now a small classic 2011 clone, even a sign in, but score of 96.
  • Build 1018: Iconicly moves up to 2014 clonings and a perfection of 98 in Lighthouse.
  • Build 1031: For real it was now fully updated to 2015 perfectly. Scored 97, however.
  • Build 1038: Two logos, one 2014 and one 2015 like a difference.
  • Build 1047: Added a small video for updation.
  • Build 1063: A brand new update for the footer saying it go away in a few months.
  • Build 1081: A new Chrome feature that was updated for 2015 new update.
  • Build 1100: The sign in button is broken.
  • Build 1117: Added a few more logos for 2018 and optimized index 3 and 2, scored 100.
  • Build 1119 (NEW): Lucky button fix.
