Colons in File Paths are not allowed on Windows

What happened

When cloning or checking out this repository on Windows, the process fails because several folders contain colons (:) in their names. Windows does not allow this.

What you expected

Repo should clone successfully on all platforms, including Windows.

Steps to reproduce

Clone the current repo in Windows.

As a quick fix you can use wsl2. I think there might be more issues with windows, I haven't tested the code at all there.
