This was fixed in RooCode but not merged yet.

This fixed will allow the configuration of codex model via openAI compatible using the responses instead of chat/completions.

The issue shows as still open. We've merged all upstream commits, so if it was fixed in Roo it would exist in Zoo.

The OpenAI-compatible provider (OpenAiHandler in src/api/providers/openai.ts) still routes every request through chat.completions.create — there's no Responses-API path, so Azure codex models like gpt-5.3-codex (which reject chatCompletion) can't be used here. Note the referenced RooCode PR #11952 is still open/unmerged, so it wasn't part of the upstream history Zoo merged — which is why this is still reproducible.

I'd like to take this and port the fix: detect codex models and route them through the Responses API (responses.create) with the matching message/tool conversion and streaming, leaving non-codex models on chat.completions. PR with tests to follow. 🦘
