Getting Started

First Time Setup

  1. Open the Application

    • Navigate to http://localhost:5000
    • The homepage will load with the chat interface
  2. Optional: Create an Account

    • Click "Sign In" in the top right
    • Enter your phone number
    • Verify with OTP
    • Complete your profile

Navigation

  • Home: Main chat interface
  • Dashboard: View appointments and health records
  • Profile: Manage your information
  • Settings: Customize preferences

Using the Chatbot

Starting a Conversation

  1. Click the blue chat icon in the bottom-right corner
  2. Type your symptoms or medical question
  3. Press Enter or click Send
  4. Wait for AI analysis (1-2 seconds)

Basic Symptom Query

You: "I have a headache and feel tired"

AI: "I understand you're experiencing a headache and fatigue.

Symptoms Detected:

Severity: Level 2 (Moderate)

Recommendations:
1. Rest in a quiet, dark room
2. Stay hydrated

- If pain worsens significantly
- If accompanied by vision changes

Multiple Symptoms

You: "I have chest pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness"

AI: "⚠️ URGENT MEDICAL ATTENTION REQUIRED

I've detected symptoms that require immediate medical evaluation:
• Chest pain
• Shortness of breath  
• Dizziness

Severity: Level 4 (CRITICAL)

IMMEDIATE ACTION:
1. Call 911 or local emergency number NOW
2. Do not drive yourself
3. Sit down and stay calm
4. Chew aspirin if available and not allergic

First Aid While Waiting:
1. Sit in a comfortable position
2. Loosen tight clothing
3. Take slow, deep breaths
4. Do not eat or drink

Understanding AI Responses

Severity Levels

  • Level 1 (Mild): 🟢 Self-care recommended
  • Level 2 (Moderate): 🟡 Consult family doctor
  • Level 3 (Serious): 🟠 See specialist soon
  • Level 4 (Critical): 🔴 Emergency - Call 911

Response Components

Each AI response includes:

  1. Symptom Analysis: What was detected
  2. Severity Rating: How urgent
  3. Recommendations: What to do
  4. Doctor Suggestions: Which specialist to see
  5. When to Seek Help: Red flags to watch

Tips for Better Results

Do:

  • Describe all symptoms
  • Mention duration ("for 3 days")
  • Include severity ("severe", "mild")
  • Be specific about location
  • Mention related factors

Don't:

  • Use vague descriptions
  • Skip important details
  • Self-diagnose
  • Ignore emergency symptoms

Managing Appointments

Booking an Appointment

  1. After chat analysis, click "Book Appointment"
  2. Or go to Dashboard → "New Appointment"
  3. Fill in details:
    • Doctor name or specialty
    • Preferred date
    • Preferred time
    • Symptoms/reason
  4. Click "Confirm Booking"
  5. Receive confirmation

Viewing Appointments

  • Go to Dashboard
  • See all scheduled appointments
  • Filter by:
    • Upcoming
    • Past
    • Cancelled

Managing Appointments

  • Reschedule: Click appointment → "Reschedule"
  • Cancel: Click appointment → "Cancel"
  • Add Notes: Click appointment → "Add Notes"

Appointment Reminders

  • Email reminder (24 hours before)
  • SMS reminder (2 hours before)
  • In-app notification (30 minutes before)

Health Records

Recording Vital Signs

  1. Go to Dashboard"Add Vitals"
  2. Enter measurements:
    • Blood Pressure (e.g., 120/80)
    • Heart Rate (e.g., 75 bpm)
    • Temperature (e.g., 98.6°F)
    • Weight (e.g., 150 lbs)
  3. Add optional notes
  4. Click "Save"

Viewing Health Trends

  • Dashboard shows graphs of:
    • Blood pressure over time
    • Heart rate trends
    • Weight changes
    • Temperature history

Tracking Symptoms

  • Record symptom occurrences
  • Note severity and triggers
  • Track patterns over time
  • Share with doctors

Medical History

  • Upload lab reports

Emergency Features

Automatic Emergency Detection

The AI automatically detects emergencies based on:

  1. Go to Profile"Emergency Contacts"
  2. Add up to 3 contacts
  3. Include: Name, Phone, Relationship
  4. Contacts notified in emergencies

  • Cuts/Bleeding
  • Fractures
  • Allergic reactions

Tips & Best Practices

For Accurate Diagnosis

  1. Be Detailed: More information = better analysis
  2. Use Plain Language: No medical jargon needed
  3. Mention Timeline: When did symptoms start?
  4. Note Changes: Any improvement or worsening?
  5. List Medications: Include current medications

Privacy & Security

  1. Don't Share: Never share login credentials
  2. Secure Device: Use password/biometric lock
  3. Log Out: Log out on shared devices
  4. Review Permissions: Check app permissions regularly

Regular Health Monitoring

  1. Weekly Check-ins: Record vitals weekly
