Critical Bug: Google Auth Initialization Runtime Deadlock Under Telephony Footprint MCC 421 #1070

Description

Environment & Context

  • Target Network Footprint: MCC 421 (Yemen Carrier Infrastructure)
  • Subsystem: Google Play Services / Auth Identity Pipeline
  • Core Platform State: Trapped under May Security Patch Level (Google Play System updates fail consecutively 3-5 times over the last 14 days).

Description of the Issue

A critical framework-level runtime deadlock occurs during any core authentication or synchronization attempt when the device is registered under the Yemeni telephony footprint (MCC 421). Instead of gracefully falling back or throwing an unhandled exception, the identity wizard goes into a perpetual loading sequence, freezing the UI completely.

This issue behavior has been verified as a systemic carrier/regional network block rather than a localized device malfunction.

Diagnostic Evidence Mapped

  1. Replication Video showing the runtime deadlock:

  2. System Bug Report Logs (Telephony & Auth traces):
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yq-7vYrjthAneJlhWnVmEZ9-klymVJ7T/view?usp=drivesdk

Note: The Android Security Team reviewed this and confirmed it as a functional platform framework/connectivity bug that needs immediate routing to the identity and connectivity infrastructure maintainers.

Please investigate the regional network handler constraints causing this total ecosystem lockout for users on this network footprint.
