[BUG] Remote-code: enabling /remote-code on a session causes other enabled sessions to disappear (iMac + Android repro) #73542

Description

@schwentker

Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Environment
Claude Code version: latest (please replace with exact version shown on iMac).
Platform: iMac (macOS — replace with exact macOS version), Android (Claude mobile app — replace with exact app version).

Repro frequency: intermittent but reproducible in my testing (see steps).

Short description
When I enable /remote-code on multiple sessions (Fable, High effort) one session disappears from the UI after I start /remote-code on another session; sessions later reappear briefly then disappear again. This happens between the iMac Claude Code client and the Android Claude app.

Observed behavior
Sessions B and C disappear from the UI when session A is opened after /remote-code is enabled. The sessions sometimes reappear after a few minutes with actions, but then disappear again when navigating back to session A. This occurs across desktop (iMac Claude Code) and the Android app.

Additional details
Prompts: all involved sessions used the "Fable" persona with "High effort" (may be relevant).
UI behavior: disappearance is from the session list (not just hidden), and sessions later reappear briefly.

Timing: disappearance happens immediately after opening another session with /remote-code active; reappearance occurs ~5 minutes later, then disappearance can repeat.
Cross-client: reproduced between iMac desktop client and Android mobile app viewing the same account.

Troubleshooting I tried
Confirmed remote-code had been enabled in the sessions.
Created a fresh session similar to the missing one; it also disappeared when another session was opened.
Verified behavior on Android app (saw session A but not B/C when they were missing).

Logs / Attachments
Please let me know what logs or feedback IDs you need; I can attach terminal output, client logs, timestamps, and screenshots.

Example useful logs: Claude Code CLI output, client debug logs, Android app logs, and exact session IDs or timestamps for when sessions disappear/reappear.
Impact

Blocks using multiple remote-code sessions concurrently and disrupts cross-device workflows. Causes lost session visibility and inconsistent UI state.

What Should Happen?

Expected behavior
Enabling /remote-code on multiple sessions should not make other sessions vanish from the session list; all enabled sessions should remain visible and selectable on both desktop and mobile clients. Sessions should remain stable across navigation.

Steps to Reproduce

Steps to reproduce
On iMac running Claude Code (latest), create session A and start it using the prompt set to "Fable" and effort "High".
Create session B and start it using the prompt set to "Fable" and effort "High".
In both sessions enable remote access with the command /remote-code.
In the desktop UI, click/open session A. After opening session A, session B disappears from the session list.
On Android Claude app, check sessions — session A is visible but session B is not.
Create session C (similar but not identical to B) and start it with Fable / High effort, then enable /remote-code.
Click/open session A again; session C disappears.
~5 minutes later sessions B and C reappear with actions available; clicking one copies a result. Returning to session A causes B and C to disappear again.
