We should be clear we take both [project_id]:[dataset_id].[table_id] and [project_id].[dataset_id].[table_id]

Summary of Changes

Hello @damccorm, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request enhances the clarity and accuracy of documentation and internal code comments related to BigQuery table naming conventions. The primary goal is to ensure that all references consistently acknowledge and illustrate the two main formats for specifying BigQuery tables: one using a colon to separate the project ID and another using a dot. This improvement helps users and developers understand the accepted syntax more precisely, reducing potential confusion.

Highlights

  • Documentation Consistency: Clarified BigQuery table specification formats across various documentation and code comments to ensure consistency.
  • Supported Formats: Explicitly updated examples and descriptions to show that both [project_id]:[dataset_id].[table_id] (colon-separated project) and [project_id].[dataset_id].[table_id] (dot-separated project) are accepted formats for BigQuery table specifications.
  • Casing Correction: Corrected the casing of project_id in some documentation examples for better uniformity.
