Maybe it's better get rid of code duplication by using something like:

Consumer<List<List<?>>> checker = res -> {
    assertEquals(1, res.size());
    assertEquals(initiatorId, res.get(0).get(0));
};

And then:
checker.accept(...)

It will make code more complex, prefer to leave it as is.
