I wanted to experiment with your example of using Google API to get location, and saw that classes GooglePlayServicesClient and LocationClient are deprecated.
Consider variant of using the GoogleApiClient class.
PS. Thank you for your courses, both Part1 and Part2 - it's VERY helpful.
